  • 1/2 cup light soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger

make the sauce

  • In a mixing bowl, combine water, light soy sauce, and brown sugar together and stir well.

  • In a saucepan over medium heat Sauté ginger and garlic in 1 tablespoon vegetable oil until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  • Add light soy sauce and brown sugar to the ginger and garlic. Stir well and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and let sauce simmer for about 15 minutes (or until thickened).

  • Cut the rib steak into thin slices (about 1/4 inch wide), then coat the rib eye steak with cornstarch. put it aside

  • Heat vegetable oil (1 cup) in a saucepan over medium heat.
