Cayenne pepper powder (and a small amount used) adds the right snack: Not too spicy and the perfect neutral flavor helps the caramel flavor of these pecans shine through. But if you want spicier, double the amount you use for 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. It’s sweet, spicy and tempting all in one.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Place sugar, salt, and cayenne pepper in a medium mixing bowl. mix
Add the pecans and 2 tablespoons of water, then stir until the pecans are evenly coated.
Place pecans on a parchment-lined baking tray to spread evenly. Then, toast the nuts for 10 minutes (or until the pecans are caramelized).
Remove parchment from hot baking pan. and set aside to cool (about 5 minutes).
Remove the pecans from the parchment and place in an airtight container. (Or even better – eat fresh!)
